Issue 79 of Swanning Around
After a short interval to allow some replacement 'shiny parts' for Swanning Around management, the latest edition brings you up to date with news from around the railway. Std 4 80104 has now departed to Tysely whilst 80078 has arrived for winter service. With extensive vegetation works by the PWay team, a view of the recent SRT CoM meeting, details of work to Crompton D6515 Lt Jenny Lewis RN at Eastleigh, porter training and a report on engineering works at Herston, this is the November 2021 edition.

Issue 77 of Swanning Around
An autumn edition of Swanning Around with more information from around the Swanage Railway. This edition provides an update on work to replace the bogie on 34028 Eddystone, the Transport Rally held at Harmans Cross, progress with the T3 at the Flour Mill, unveiling of the National Heritage Rail Award at Norden Gates, Roads to Rail and the coming Steam and Lights event!

Issue 77 of Swanning Around
Into early autumn and this new edition showcases the Roads to Rail event over tha August Bank Holiday weekend and the first revenue earning services for the Class 117 DMU. 80th birthday greetings to Paul McDonald and a retirement for John Stopher and news on the overhaul at Eastleigh of D6515/33012 Lt Jenny Lewis RN and fitting of a replacement main steam pipe for 34072 257 Squadron. It's been a busy summer!

Summer services are back in full swing and Harmans Cross and Herston stations have re-opened. A mix of experiences with hot weather, heavy rain anhd thunderstorms - it's all in a days work! News about the forthcoming Roads to Rail event, a new heritage coach is delivered, updates on the T3 restoration, PTS courses and a Tornado is seen at Swanage!

The Swanage Railway 'on tour' as Maunsell U-Class 31806 works a mainline charter from Eastleigh to Portsmouth and Brockenhurst - Mucky man of the month (Josh Webb), new Swanager 'kiosk' catering in the Booking Hall, news of 80104, works around the railway, Purbeck Mining Museum and works (at Eastleigh) to 33012/D6515.

Issue 74 of Swanning Around - the 'official' start of summer!
Changes to motive power as 80104 bows out at the end of its 10 year boiler certificate and 34028 Eddystone enters service with guest loco 78018 visiting from the Great Central Railway. News of the new Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Officer, restoration of a brake van by the Wagon Group, volunteer news and news of the new Realtime Trains passenger information system.

Swanning Around - Issue 73, April 28th 2021.
Issue 73 of Swanning Around - with passenger services now running again
Passenger services returned from the 12th April and this editiom reports on the re-start - and on the return of 34028 Eddystone to the railway on 26th April. Mucky Man of the Month is Ethan Waller and there are reports on hand drilling rails and reports on carriage repairs and PWay works.

Swanning Around - Issue 72, April 1st 2021.
Issue 72 of Swanning Around - with trains now running again
With changes to Covid restictions it has been possible for volunteers to return to the railway - and a great deal of work has been done in preparationm for re-opening on 12th April. Carriage s have been cleaned and door jambs painted, PWay have comnpleted the relay of New Barn bridge, Andy Dunster and friends have refitted the Corfe Castle kitchen - and trains are running providing refresher workings for all safety critical staff.

Swanning Around - Issue 71, February 28th 2021.
Issue 71 of Swanning Around - with re-opening now on the horizon
With the Government announcement of the roadmap out of Covid restrictions, the railway is now looking to start services on April 12th. But - before we start there remains a lot to do. The Pway team have been carrying out serious repair works to New Barn Bridge and the Locomotive team have lifted the boiler our of 31806 and replaced it with the refurbished boiler from 31874. With other works underway the railway is feeling that our 2021 season is just around the corner!
