We're Good to Go!
The Swanage Railway is delighted to announce that our preparations for the Summer Service have met the new Visit Britain standard and we have been awarded the 'Good to Go' mark.
The 'We're Good To Go' industry standard and supporting mark means businesses can demonstrate that they are adhering to the respective Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and checked that they have the required processes in place.
VisitEngland in partnership with the national tourist organisations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales launched a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for tourism as the sector works towards reopening.

Sanitising products
Hand sanitiser stations are now available across the railway for use by staff and members of the public.
Hand sanitiser stations and pump action bottles contain a high alcohol (70%) content sanitising gel with aloe vera for hand smoothing. Gel is fast drying, does not leave a sticky residue and is compliant with World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations.
Please note that alcohol sanitising gel is flammable and MUST NOT be used on a steam locomotive footplate or near naked flames.
A special non-alcohol long lasting bactericide/viruscide sanitising solution is available in the Operations Dept. area.
The interiors of carriage stock will be treated with a long lasting (30 day) surface sanitiser applied in a mist spray.
